Xeomin®

XEOMINIf you’re looking to minimize signs of aging without surgery, we offer Xeomin, an injectable treatment that can be used to soften wrinkles caused by overactive muscles of expression.

Who Can Benefit From Xeomin?

Xeomin contains botulinum toxin type A, which is also the active ingredient in Botox® Cosmetic.

Good Candidates for Xeomin Are

  • Dissatisfied with early signs of aging
  • Bothered by noticeable frown lines, forehead wrinkles or crow’s feet
  • Healthy and realistic about the expected outcome

If you’re healthy and motivated to improve your looks, then you’re likely a good candidate for Xeomin. Xeomin is safe and effective to use on all skin types. However, if you have an active skin infection you may not be a good candidate for Xeomin treatments at this time.

The best way to determine if you are a good candidate for Xeomin is to schedule an appointment. We can help you determine if Xeomin is the right treatment or if another injectable product would serve you better.

Xeomin Treatment in New York

A Xeomin treatment can be completed in minutes. Most patients are in and out of our office in less than an hour. Prior to treatment, we will cleanse your face with an antiseptic. If necessary, a topical numbing cream can be applied to reduce discomfort. After carefully choosing the injection areas, we administer a specified dose of Xeomin.

Xeomin injections are administered using an ultra-fine needle. Most patients find the small injection stings easy to tolerate without using a local anesthetic. Immediately following treatment, an ice pack may be placed on the treated sites to minimize your risk of swelling.

After Your Xeomin Treatment

Xeomin is an outpatient procedure that requires no downtime. You’ll be able to resume your normal activities immediately. Follow all post-treatment instructions provided by our staff. Know that injection sites may be slightly sore or sensitive, so you should avoid direct sun exposure for a few days. Mild swelling or redness is also common, but these side effects should subside within a day or two.

Your final results will appear gradually over the course of 14 days. Results typically last a few months, with many patients finding that their follow-up injections last even longer. To maintain your smooth, youthful-looking skin, you should wear sunglasses and SPF 30 sunscreen on a daily basis.

As a quick non-invasive treatment, risks associated with Xeomin are minimal. The most common side effects include mild swelling, bruising or pain at the injection site. Other side effects may include flu-like symptoms, nausea, and eyelid droop. We will discuss these risks with you in-depth during your consultation.
